Like many artists, I have spent my entire life producing artwork in one form or another. At age 11, I attended art lessons at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Children’s Centre where I met Arthur Lismer (Group of Seven). His remarkable presence and sketching talent left an indelible impression on me and a lifelong desire to learn more and to grow my artistic ability.
I paint to allow viewers to enjoy and experience the subject matter in their own way. I work in oil paints with brushes, painting knives, coloured pencils, and oil pastels.
To paraphrase Gustave Courbet, 19th century French painter; “The task of the painter is to take the world as he found it and to present it straightforwardly”
